Also on this date in 1160, King Erik IX of Sweden was murdered when he was at church, he was buried at Uppsala Cathedral in Sweden.
In 1797, Charlotte, Princess Royal, daughter of King George III of the United Kingdom, married King Friedrich I of Wurttemberg at the Chapel Royal, St James' Palace in London, England. Also, in 1797, King Friedrich August II of Saxony was born in Dresden (now Saxony in Germany).
In 1829, Maria, Queen of Spain, third wife of King Ferdinand VII of Spain, died.
Finally, in 1868, the future Nicholas II, Emperor of Russia, was born at the Alexander Palace in Russia.
